Ulefone Note 9P–Rugged Smartphone Overview

In June 2020, Ulefone launched the Note 9P. Helio P22 MT6762 is the SoC on the phone, which has mid-range processing capabilities. 

6.52 inches of screen area can be found on this device, which has a curved HD+ display and waterdrop notch.

Ulefone Armor 10–Rugged Smartphone Overview

A Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced plans to launch the first outdoor smartphone capable of 5G since the end of 2018. 

Ulefone Armor 6 was first announced, but the 5G edition was not released. The plans will be discussed again sometime in September 2020. 

During that time, an Ulefone Armor 8 5G rugged device was announced to be released. The first concrete details of the equipment (Mediatek Dimensity 800) 

And even the first renders of the intended design emerged for the first time. 

Using the latest 5G technology, Ulefone has released a new 5G Outdoor rugged Smartphone that will go on presale at the end of November and be delivered at the beginning of December.

Ulefone Armor 8–Rugged Smartphone Overview

Despite its relatively low price tag, the Ulefone Armor 8 looks impressive. Ulefone Armor X7 has an excellent price-to-performance ratio and will have certainly displayed the mastery of Ulefone. 

The new version of the Ulefone Armor X7 is just an upgrade. The brand, Ulefone, kindly invited me to test its smartphone Armor 7, which costs less than €499.

In terms of its appearance, Ulefone Armor 8 is another rugged smartphone with a 6.3-inch screen, four cameras, 48MP + 16MP + 8.0MP at the back, and 16MP at the front, capable of handling a high-resolution 1080×2340 image. 

It features eight gigabytes of RAM, 128 gigabytes of storage, an Helio P90 processor, and a 5000mAh battery, all of which are features we’ve come to expect from a phablet.

I received neither the Ulefone Armor 8 nor its cheaper offshoot with minimally changed memory and a slightly changed camera setup in the editorial office. 

A significant difference can be found in the price, as the “small” model is only €199, rather than €319 for the “large” model.

Aside from the smooth back and lack of segments, not much has changed concerning appearance and quality. 

Rubberized frames are installed on the side for increased stability, and metal plates are installed on edge for increased strength. 

The keypad is easy to use as usual, but so far, it has pressed well. Overall, the craft was good but not outstanding. A good display is offered here with solid colors and a good resolution. 

All inputs are processed efficiently and without halos. Like most Chinese-made import phones, the brightness is not impressive when used outdoors. Manufacturers must take action here.

As far as connectivity is concerned, there’s nothing to complain about. There is no real disadvantage to their delivery since they include numerous adapters. 

There are no issues with phones’ NFC, Bluetooth unit, GPS, WiFi, and Co. The reception and the sound quality are both excellent. The test period was free of crashes and non-function. 

A few cables will not fit in the USB Type-C port because it is a bit deep in the case. Mono speakers sound average but are pretty loud and can consume one or the other medium.

It offers advanced features such as NFS, inductive charging, IP68, etc., at a reasonable price. The camera is also of decent quality. 

Two fake sensors, Android 10.0, and outdated security status, as well as a dim display for the sunnier outdoors are all reasons for concern. 

As long as you are content with simple camera options and don’t care about NFC or security updates, you will be happy here.
