It is finally official, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. It is only the second smartphone to boast a Penta-camera setup after the Nokia 9 Pureview. Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is the first smartphone in the world to commercially launch with a 108-megapixel camera sensor. The phone sits firmly in the upper mid-range segment. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 730G Chipset.
To further enhance the appeal of the device, Xiaomi has put a curved OLED display. And, continuing this series of firsts is a large battery, which is the largest ever to be offered by Xiaomi. Furthermore, all of this comes in at an attractive starting price of CNY 2,799 (~$399).

Display | Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro features an edge-to-edge curved AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. The display size comes in at 6.47″ diagonally. The panel touts FHD+ resolution at 1080 x 2340 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It also offers a 400000:1 contrast ratio, along with HDR and DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

The phone also gets a breathing light feature built into the display. This allows the edges to blink whenever the phone receives a notification. The Chinese company also proudly boasted that the CC9 Pro is the world’s first phone to house an ultra-thin optical in-display fingerprint sensor. This fingerprint sensor also features a larger recognition area, and can even be unlocked with both wet and dry fingers.
Now, coming to the highlight feature of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro – The 108MP Penta-lens system. So, starting at the top, the first is a 5-megapixel sensor with a super-telephoto lens that supports 5x Optical Zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x hybrid zoom. Next up is a 12-megapixel portrait sensor with 1.4µm pixel size. The third sensor is the flagship 108-megapixel sensor from Samsung, sporting an f/1.7 aperture along with 4-axis OIS.
Coming up next, a 20-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens and 117° Field-of-View. And finally, the fifth sensor is a 2-megapixel macro lens with a focal length of 1.5cm. There’s also a pair of dual-LED flash units to assist the five cameras. Moreover, the Mi CC9 Pro is optimized for vlogging, with a 32-megapixel f/2.0 camera at the front.
Now, apart from the super-zoom capabilities, the phone also offers features like AI Beauty, AI Scene Recognition, Portrait Mode, Super Night Scene Mode, and 4K video recording. What’s also remarkable is the fact that the Mi CC9 Pro is now leading DxOMark benchmarks. The CC9 Pro is now on par with the Mate 30 Pro with a score of 121. The phone also scores an average of 130pts in photography tests and 102pts in videography tests.
Performance | Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, aka the Mi Note 10 Pro, houses the Snapdragon 730G processor, which is Qualcomm’s second-best chipset. The chipset comes with 8gigs of RAM, while the top variant has a 256GB UFS 3.0 storage option as well. Powering the smartphone is a large battery rated at 5,260mAh. Furthermore, the company added 30W fast charging support to the device, allowing it to go from 0-100 in 65 minutes.
Software & Connectivity
The Mi CC9 Pro runs the MIUI 11 skin on top of Android 9 Pie. It features the Game Turbo 2.0 technology for accelerated GPU performance while gaming.
On the connectivity front, the phone features dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR Blaster, USB-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, the phone houses a 1cc large loudspeaker, which can produce up to 2x the audio output compared to any other smartphone.
