After months of waiting, Xiaomi finally brought the Redmi Note 8 Pro to India today. Redmi Note 8 Pro is technically the first phone to feature a 64MP rear camera globally. But Realme has become the showstopper by bringing it first to India with the Realme XT. Apart from the camera, Note 8 Pro also brings deeper Alexa integration. Starting with the design, Redmi has forwarded the all-glass construction of Redmi Note 7 Pro to its successor. It’s got 3D curved glass on the back, which feels pretty good in the hand. The company continues to use Aura Design Philosophy and offers Gorilla Glass 5 safety, both at the front and back.
It features a powerful gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G90T chipset, which is an octa-core processor clocked at 2.05Ghz. Now, as far as GPU is concerned, ARM Mali G76 MC4 at 800MHz will run PUBG and COD smoothly at the highest settings at 60FPS. Note 8 Pro is the first phone in this price range to have liquid cooling technology that keeps the device cooler when playing games.
Note 8 Pro comes with a 4500mAh battery. And to Juice it up, it comes with 18W Fast Charging support and the fast charger is included in the package. It also comes with IP52 certification and P2i coating for protection against dust and water spillage. Lastly, the device also comes with 2 dedicated sim slots and a single additional microSD card slot.

Now, concerning the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro’s camera, there’s a quad-camera setup featuring a 64MP primary camera which uses a large Samsung GW1 sensor (1/1.72′′) with a bright f/1.8 aperture. The second sensor is an 8MP Wide-Angle with a 120 ° field of view. That is followed by a 2MP Macro sensor under a flash. While the fourth one is a 2MP depth sensor. Lastly, it comes with a 20MP AI selfie camera at the front.
Introducing Alexa | Deeper Integration
The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes deeply integrated with Alexa. Which makes it the first device in India to get Alexa integration out of the box. Alexa can do multiple things such as playing your favorite song from Amazon Music, compiling your shopping list, connecting to your Fire TV set, while not limited to – controlling your smart devices, and more. This comes courtesy of an IR blaster present on the device.
Price & Availability
Redmi Note 8 Pro will come at a price of Rs.14,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage standard version. Whereas, you will be paying Rs.15,999 for the 6GB+128 GB model and Rs. 17,999 for the top 8GB+128 GB version.
Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available in three colors. Namely – Gamma Green, Halo White, and Shadow Black. It will be available on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s Official Online Store from October 21st.
