After dominating the entry-level and mid-range smartphone markets, Realme moved onto the Flagship arena with Realme X2 Pro to take on Redmi K20 Pro, Asus 6Z and OnePlus 7. The Realme X2 Pro is the first flagship of the brand, and it’s such a massive boost from the X2 that the two don’t share much more than their branding. But before we explore more, let’s get the specs first.

The company chose to put in a 6.5” FHD+ AMOLED panel on the Realme X2 Pro. The panel features a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support, and full DCI-P3 color space coverage. Behind the display sits an in-display fingerprint reader that unlocks the phone in just 0.23 seconds. This fingerprint reader is the fastest one made by Realme to date.

It comes with Snapdragon 855 Plus under the hood. It’s Realme’s first8-series chipset and Qualcomm’s one of the quickest available for Android. The Processor claims to give 15% higher graphics performance compared to Snapdragon 855. Due to higher clock speed, this processor will come paired with a 90Hz panel to make the ongoing communication smoother and improve the gameplay as well.

The chipset is cooled by a vapor chamber through a graphite film to help spread the heat much more uniformly. HyperBoost 2.0 ensures increasingly steady frame rates, while Touch Boost 2.0 improves touch sensitivity by 35%.

Realme X2 Pro | Cameras

The Realme X2 Pro cameras feature a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main camera that uses a large Samsung GW1 sensor (1/1.72′′) with a bright f/1.8 aperture and 0.8μm pixels. The second is by far the most fascinating camera with a 2x telephoto lens with a 13MP sensor. Next up is a 115° ultra-wide-angle camera with a massive 1.4μm pixel 8MP sensor as well as a dedicated macro mode and PDAF. The fourth lens is a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with 1.0μm pixels and a Quad Bayer filter.

Realme further improved its dedicated night mode called Nightscape 2.0. This mode uses AI and multi-frame synthesis to minimize sound, illumination, and handshake while enhancing dynamic range.

Battery

The Realme X2 Pro is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with the newest 50W SuperVOOC Quick charging support. It promises to fill the first 80% of the battery in just 30 minutes. This is significantly faster than the OnePlus’ 30W adapter. It is also surprisingly better at support for the USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge standards.

Miscellaneous

The phone comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and rear. The frame is made from metal (the usual Glass and Aluminum sandwich). The device comes in four color options, including Ocean Blue and Midnight Silver and two Master Editions in red and gray colors.

X2 Pro has a Tactile Linear Motor for enhanced haptic feedback in games. It’s the first Realme phone to have Ultra-Linear dual speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio as well.
