Recently, Xiaomi has been making headlines almost daily. That might have something to do with the company going fairly aggressive as of late. It is not that Xiaomi wasn’t aggressive enough already, but it seems to have gone a few steps further with the aggression strategy. The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has brought its camera performance to the international standard. With the Mi Note 10 Pro, the company is looking to push that further. Now, according to reports, Xiaomi is looking to improve its displays with the use of a 120Hz OLED display.
More on the Report | Xiaomi testing 120Hz OLED Display
The report comes from a well-known Weibo leaker – @数码闲聊站. According to the leaker, the company has already commenced internal testing of 120Hz AMOLED display for their smartphones. Which means that it should be ready for commercial use by 2020. This claim is also backed by the MIUI 11 Beta. MIUI 11 Beta surprisingly contains options that refer to the presence of a 120Hz display.
Now, there’s a high likelihood of this much-coveted feature to be on Xiaomi’s 2020 flagship device. And if reports are believed, it will make it to Xiaomi’s flagship for 2020. Although, it will be interesting to look out for how this will affect Xiaomi’s sub-brands. Such that if the next version of the POCO phone or K20 comes with a 120Hz display, we could have another genuine flagship killer on our hands.
Xiaomi has been pulling out all the stops since late. By finally bringing the much-demanded app drawer to MIUI and launching tons of new gadgets and phones, they’ve been pushing ahead non-stop. Now with all these new developments and their many changes, next year looks like a particularly bright year for the Chinese company. Let’s hope that they keep it up as they’ve been exciting to watch.
