Xiaomi is all set to launch its most premium TV yet – The Mi TV 5. The premium TV is slated to be introduced by Xiaomi on November 5, along with the launch of the highly anticipated Mi CC9 Pro, and Mi Watch. However, several images have already been leaked before the official launch on a Chinese Website.

According to these supposedly leaked images, the TV looks incredibly thin. Also, the bezels that surround the panel are exceptionally low-profile. Furthermore, the body and the stand of the TV appear to be built out of aluminum, which on the face of it, looks very elegant. Also of note is the “Designed by Xiaomi” branding at the side, which has previously never graced any other products from the company.
Xiaomi further recently shared a teaser that shows off the Xiaomi TV 5’s far-field voice recognition innovation. As such, it is expected that the TV will be able to accept voice commands in a 1-10m radius.
Specifications (Speculated)
According to reports and sources, Xiaomi’s TV 5 series will house the Amlogic T972 SoC fabricated on the 12nm process. The following are the details.
- CPU: Cortex-A55 @ 1.9Ghz
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: 64GB
From the above details, we can speculate the chipset to house a Quad-Core Cortex-A55 processor clocked at ~1.9Ghz. Furthermore, it is speculated that the TV will have 4GB of RAM & 64GB of internal memory. As such, Xiaomi claims that this hardware combo permits the TV 5 to have 8K video playback capabilities.
Now coming to the actual panel, Xiaomi is utilizing a 4K Quantum-Dot panel. This panel’s likely source is from either Samsung or LG. The company further claims a broad color-gamut, pure color, and 108% NTSC color gamut coverage.
